Glass you can see through, edge to edge

This is interior glass. Inside surfaces of your windows, the sills and tracks under them, mirrors, glass doors, shower enclosures, and the front of a glass fronted cabinet if you want it. We work by hand with a squeegee and clean water, not a bottle of blue spray and a paper towel, because paper leaves lint and the lint is what you see when the sun hits it.

Older houses here make it interesting. Storm windows and old double hung sashes mean two or three glass surfaces per opening, wood that swells shut in humidity, and tracks packed with grit and dead flies. We take the time to open what opens, clean the interior faces, vacuum the track, and dry the wood. Where a sash is painted shut or a pane is cracked, we leave it alone and tell you.

Hard water, film, and what actually removes it

Shower doors are the hardest glass in most houses. On well systems out toward the Wachusett Reservoir the water carries enough mineral to leave a haze that ordinary cleaner slides right over. It comes off with a mild acidic product and physical work, and sometimes it does not come all the way off because the glass has been etched over years. We will tell you which one you have.

Interior windows are an add on rather than part of a standard visit, because doing them properly takes real time. Most clients book them once or twice a year, in spring after the heating season and again in fall. If you want them on a recurring schedule, we can rotate a few rooms per visit so the whole house comes around without a long day and a bigger number.
