Disinfecting done properly, or not claimed at all
Honest disinfection for Central Massachusetts businesses: cleaning first, the right dwell time on high touch surfaces, and a clear record of what was treated.
Disinfecting is a separate step with its own rules, and it only works if the surface is cleaned first. Product sprayed onto a dirty counter is mostly wasted. So the order never changes: clean the surface, apply the disinfectant, and leave it wet for the full contact time the label requires. That last part is where rushed work fails, because it means waiting rather than wiping straight away.
We will also tell you what it does not do. Disinfecting a surface treats that surface at that moment. People touch it again an hour later. It is not a shield over your building and it does not replace hand washing, ventilation or sending sick staff home. What regular treatment of the right surfaces does is lower the load on the things everyone in the building touches.
High touch points we treat
- Door handles, push plates, and crash bars
- Light switches, thermostats, and elevator buttons
- Shared keyboards, phones, and copier control panels
- Restroom faucets, flush handles, and dispenser levers
- Break room fridge handles, microwave keypads, tabletops
- Handrails and stair rails on every flight
- Reception counters and the pen people keep touching
- Trim and window ledges where forced hot air leaves film
Products, dwell time, and honest limits
We use registered disinfectants, mixed at the dilution on the label, and we follow the contact time printed there. Different products need different amounts of wet time, and a product that needs several minutes will not do its job if it is wiped off in ten seconds. On food contact surfaces we rinse afterward. On electronics we use wipes rated for them rather than soaking a keyboard.
Most businesses do not need a fogging machine. They need the touch points done properly on a routine, and the cleaning underneath done well enough that the disinfectant has a fair chance. We will build that into your nightly scope with the surfaces named, and we will not sell you a treatment we cannot explain. If you need documentation of what was treated and when, we can provide it.
Questions about disinfection and sanitizing services
If your question is not here, call and ask. We would rather tell you a smaller job is enough than sell you a bigger one.
What is the difference between cleaning and disinfecting?
Cleaning removes soil and most of what is sitting on a surface. Disinfecting treats what is left, using a product held on the surface for a set time. One does not replace the other. Cleaning without disinfecting leaves touch points untreated, and disinfecting without cleaning wastes the product.
How long does the treatment stay effective?
Only until the surface is touched again. There is no product that keeps a door handle treated through a full day of traffic. That is why we build it into the routine rather than selling it as a one time event, and why the busiest touch points get done every visit.
Can staff be in the building during treatment?
For routine touch point work, yes. We use products suited to occupied spaces and keep them off surfaces people are using at that moment. For heavier applications we prefer the building empty and will schedule after hours. Tell us about anyone with sensitivities and we will adjust what we carry.
Tell us about the property
The walkthrough is free and nobody is going to sell you anything at it. We look, we ask what has been going wrong, and we put the number and the list in writing. You decide after that.
- We come out at no cost and with nothing to sign
- A room by room list in writing, not a promise on the phone
- One flat price per visit, never a running clock
- Certificate of insurance sent to your building on request
- The same cleaner comes back to your address
- A week of notice ends a home plan, no penalty
