What we are aiming at
This site should work for somebody using a screen reader, somebody moving through it with a keyboard, somebody running it at 200 percent zoom, and somebody whose system asks for less motion. WCAG 2.1 level AA is the target, and contrast, focus order, focus visibility and reduced motion are all checked before a page goes live.
What is actually in place
Every pair of colours that carries text is measured to at least 4.5 to 1, and the measurement runs across every page rather than a sample. Animation switches off completely when the system asks for reduced motion. Form fields have real labels, a visible focus ring, and errors attached to the field they belong to. Nothing here needs a mouse.
Where it falls short
The map on the coverage pages is a Google embed and its accessibility is not ours to control. Every town we cover is also printed as plain links next to that map and again in the footer, so the map is never the only way to get the information.
